CAPE TOWN: Exams were distracted at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Cape Town campus on Monday, when a small group of protesters got in the exam rooms and randomly used pepper-spray on some students who were writing. Later, a group of students held a meeting at the main Cape Town campus which was disrupted by private security guards. The student protesters retaliated by throwing bottles and stones at the security guards and the police officers who were later called in. Rubber bullets were fired at some of the protesters, cars parked next to the campus and in the adjacent streets were also damaged.
