The Minister of State Security Mr David Mahlobo is in the spotlight following an Al Jazeera’s documentary titled “Al Jazeera Investigates: The Poachers Pipeline” that alleges ties between the Minister Mahlobo and an alleged Chinese organised crime figure and rhino horn trafficker living in South Africa, Guan Jiang Guang.

In the documentary Mr Guang,who also owns a massage parlour in Mbombela in Mpumalanga, shows photographs of himself and Mahlobo on his cellphone. Guang reportedly said he knew Mahlobo and openly bragged about bribing South African justice and immigration officials.

Social media has been reacting to the news all morning, while the State Security Minster has already done radio interviews and also released a statement stating the accusations by Al Jazeera and other local newpaper publications are slanderous.
