DURBAN: Fishermen who make a living fishing at Cuttings Beach, Merebank, can’t put food on their plates because sewerage and litter are killing the fish or chasing them away.
They told the Daily News that unless there was some urgent intervention, all marine life in the area would die.

Brian John Colbeck, of Wentworth, said the canal in the area was flowing with sewage and black water earlier this week and this had killed and chased the fish away. Video: Chris Ndaliso
